Understanding delegation

Here employees will know about the four steps, for delegation, and four different levels of delegation.

Reviewing pre assignments

In this discussion session, participants might share some of their thoughts about what they learned from this case study, which they were asked to review in advance of attending this session.

Selecting the person

Participants will learn how to identify the right individual for delegation using four criteria.

The delegation meeting

We will explore eight steps, taking a employee along the process, to ensure the task is covered to meet the completion expectation.

Levels of proficiency

This part is about giving four labels as indications of the level of proficiency in task delegation.

Providing instructions

In this part participants will learn techniques to clearly communicate concise but effective instructions in order to successfully delegate.

Enhancing communication skills

Improving communication skills plays a role, in facilitating acceptance of delegated tasks by employees.

Tracking delegation

In this section we will delve into the five methods of observing delegation.

Practicing delegation

And during this session they will have a chance to work in groups and to understand in a hands on manner that they have learnt a five part case study from the beginning using those skills they have acquired far.

Providing feedback

The objective of this session is to help employees learn to provide feedback without coming across as blunt or harsh.

Becoming a delegator

Below are those same five characteristics of a delegator, restated as behavioural qualities: Make a note as to how strongly you believe you possess those skills.

Question and answer session, on delegation

At the end of the session, you’ll have the chance to discuss your thoughts and plan next steps.

Wrapping up the workshop

By the afternoon, participants have an opportunity to ask questions they may have and create an action plan.
