About the Event:

Learn about the benefits of progressive strength and balance training to prevent falls and allow you to live your best life.


This information session will discuss how you can build your strength and improve balance through progressive training, and why this is important as people get older.


In this information session you will learn how this type of training will benefit:

  • Reducing the risk of falls
  • Maintaining independence
  • Performing everyday tasks like carrying shopping, gardening, and playing with your grandchildren
  • Continuing pursuits such as travel, sport and even motor bike riding


This information session will also touch on some of the other topics related to fall prevention, including using night lights, home safety checks, good footwear, sleep, and the benefits related to chronic illnesses.


The session will be followed by a Q and A section at the end.


Dementia Action Week:

● For participants under the age of 16, parents and/or guardians of children must remain in the library for the duration of the program.

If you arrive more than 10 minutes after the advertised start time and there are people in the standby queue, your ticket may be allocated to the standby queue.

● If you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration at least 3 hours prior to the event. As Library Programs have limited spaces, repeated failure to notify staff of cancellations may result in bookings being refused in the future.

● The library does not endorse or promote any products which may be used in the workshop.
