About this event

ACGR originally published Conflict of Interest in Examination Guidelines in 2011. These have since been revised and used widely across the graduate research sector to guide processes to manage and ensure the independence of HDR examinations in both fact and perception.

In 2021, ACGR members requested a broader set of guidelines be developed to offer more comprehensive guidance about managing interests, thus necessitating the guidelines to extend beyond examination to include a range of considerations throughout candidature.

Led by Executive Committee members, Professors Imelda Whelehan and Susan Kinnear, a Working Group of ACGR members have drafted a new set of guidelines and accompanying matrix of risk levels that could be used by universities to identify and appropriately manage actual, perceived and potential conflicts of interest.

This workshop will present and seek feedback on the draft guidelines so that they can be amended and approved for use across the sector.

This workshop is for Deans, PVCs and Directors of Graduate Research Education or others with institutional level responsibility for graduate research.

Places are free and limited to no more than two delegates from each member institution.  Following registration delegates will be sent a Zoom conferencing link to access the webinar.
