With free attendance, you'll enjoy electrifying performances, an incredible lineup of performers, a DJ, and a vibrant, festive atmosphere—all at no cost!

💃✨ We’re thrilled to announce Aarull as one of our dancers of the evening! Fresh off the success of their collaborative Melbourne Fringe show "Temple of Desire", which won the 2024 Director’s Choice award, Aarull will take the stage to celebrate spirituality and strength through the beauty of classical South Indian dance🪔🌟

🪔✨ Celebrate Diwali with a magical twist with the incredible Creatrix Tiara as the Queer Lady Magician 🪄 bring their unique magic and storytelling to light up the night!

💃✨We also have the breathtaking dance performance by the talented Shamita Sivabalan! 🌀 Their powerful choreography and mesmerizing movements will transport you through a journey of stillness, intensity, and beauty.

🎤✨ No party is complete without the Goddess Naavikaran! 🌈🔥 A Naarm-based storyteller, DJ, singer-songwriter, and rapper, Naavikaran was previously awarded the 30 Under 30 LGBTIQ+ Leaders in Australia, bringing a unique blend of talent and passion to the stage.

🎧🔥 For the evening, we are in the skilled and capabile hands of DJ Hemi! 🎶 This Melbourne-based multi-genre DJ brings the beats, the energy, and the vibe you need for an unforgettable night. Making waves in Melbourne, Hemi knows how to work any crowd with his immense range and killer music collection🎉

Light vegan refreshments will be provided. The venue will have non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks at a cash bar.

Is there any specific dress code?

There is no strict dress code, but feel free to dress in your most festive attire! Bright colors, traditional clothing, or anything you feel comfortable in!

Who can attend the Diwali Dance Party?

The event is open to everyone! We welcome people of all ages and backgrounds to join us in celebrating Diwali, enjoying the music, and learning more about cancer screening awareness.

Is the venue accessible?

Unfortunately, the venue is only accessible via a set of stairs, and we regret that there are no alternative access options available. There are 2 steps to enter the building, and an additional 19 steps to the event space. To access the bar is an additional 6 steps. The venue has ample seating.

What are the public transport options?

Tram 11 (Stop 16), Bus 200 (Buleen/City Queen St), Bus 207 (Doncaster SC/City Queen St), Bus 202 (Yarra Bend/Melbourne University). The stop name is Johnston St/Brunswick St.

Is there parking at the location?

There is paid parking lots near by: The Bullring Coles has parking for $11 and The Fitzroy Mills Market has parking for $14. There is also some free on street parking approximately a ten minute walk away on Barkly St and George St.
