Join Chrissy McYoung, artist and illustrator of Lake Macquarie Adventures for Kids, for a hands-on drawing workshop. Learn how to draw a variety of dogs using simple, step-by-step techniques.

All materials supplied.

  • Cost: $10 + booking fee
  • Suitable for children 7 years plus. Adults must remain on-site during the activity.

Copies of the book Lake Macquarie Adventures for Kids will be available for sale and signing on the day.

The Lake Macquarie Adventures for Kids Exhibition will be on display at Windale Hub, bilyabayi from May to July.

About the Presenter
Chrissy McYoung is a local illustrator with a love of the outdoors. She has been drawing, painting and creating since the birth of her son, Ezekiel, 17 years ago. She enjoys creating quirky images of pets and Australian animals that are full of details with lots to discover.

Presented by Lake Macquarie Dobell Festival The Lake Macquarie Dobell Festival is an annual month-long arts festival inspired by the life and work of esteemed artist Sir William Dobell. A former resident of Wangi Wangi, Sir William Dobell is known for his passion, innovation, experimentation and creative excellence.

The festival includes a range of events around Lake Macquarie including workshops, presentations and exhibitions addressing various aspects of Dobell's life and work.

Windale Hub has a rear car park accessible from Shade Lane. There is 1 accessible car park with a ramp leading to the building. The building also has an internal ramp. There is a second entry to the library on Lake Street with 2-hour parking available. The library also has an accessible toilet.
