Language plays a critical role in reading, writing, and learning mathematics. EAL learners are faced with the challenge of learning a new language and learning new maths content simultaneously. In this training you will explore strategies to support EAL students with maths.
Intended Learning Outcomes:
- Identify EAL learners
- Build greater awareness of some of the challenges that EAL students face when learning mathematics
- Increased knowledge of culturally responsive strategies to support EAL students
- Increased knowledge of some of the resources you can use to support EAL students with mathematics
