We invite you to an ECA Victoria Research Forum. We are excited to present the 2024 recipients of the ECA Victoria Doctoral Thesis Award who will present on their research at our forum. You will also have the opportunity to network with colleagues and hear about contemporary thinking in relation to pedagogy and practice.
Dr Queena Lee completed her PhD at Monash University in 2024. Her research focused on teaching practices in early childhood settings in Victoria and the development of children’s agency. Queena will share with us her findings in relation to ‘agency-growth pedagogy’, a concept that aligns with the EYLF2.0 and the VEYLDF.
Dr Claudine Lam has had extensive professional experience as an educator in Australia, in both early childhood and tertiary educational contexts across the last 25 years. She completed her PhD at The University of Melbourne at the Faculty of Education in 2024. Claudine’s PhD draws on critical race theory to interrogate and disrupt inherently colonial discourses that position discussions about race as precarious. Her research explores how early childhood educators of colour experience race and racism and how this is taken into account in their teaching.
Our research forum will be held in-person at Melbourne Polytechnic, 77 St Georges Rd, Preston.
Networking from 6.00pm with the speakers presenting from 6.30 – 8.00pm.
A light supper will be provided.
