Take a walk (and a taste!) through two powerful regenerative farming systems—side by side, working in harmony to feed the community and the Three Blue Ducks restaurant, right here at The Farm.
🌾 Market Garden with Greens from the Farm
Start your tour with Josh and Lynette, long-time growers whose 1.5-acre market garden shows what’s achievable on a small scale. With a focus on soil health, seasonal rhythms, and hard-earned know-how, they grow a riot of nutrient-rich greens, herbs, edible flowers—and the occasional cult favourite like garlic scapes. Rooted in regenerative practices like compost-fed soils, and minimal tillage, their spray-free produce makes its way to local markets and straight onto the Duck’s Menu.
🌳 Food Forest with Growing Roots Permaculture
Then, wander into the lush Food Forest with Bunya and Flavia of Growing Roots Permaculture. Over the past eight years, they’ve transformed a former paddock into a dynamic, self-sustaining ecosystem—part farm, part classroom. Through fruit trees, perennial crops, natives, and ground covers, their system creates microclimates, retains water, and rebuilds soil—thriving even through droughts and floods. It’s a living example of working with nature, not against it.
