Online delivery. 3 hour class twice per week, Tuesdays and Thursdays 10am-1pm (Adelaide time) on the following dates:

March 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, 30 + April 4 & 6.

Final Assignment Presentation: Thursday 27 April

This course explores advanced theoretical tools and empirical techniques to evaluate contemporary issues in empirical corporate finance research. The course assumes a sound knowledge of the economic theory relating to the foundations of corporate finance. Students are challenged to think critically and broadly across different areas of corporate finance and the literature that bridges corporate finance theory and empirical corporate finance. By the end of the course, students will be familiar with some of the most advanced work in empirical corporate finance, the major empirical approaches utilized, and a solid understanding of what constitutes a strong corporate finance research paper.

PhD students are required to have the permission of this PhD supervisor(s) to enrol is this class and must complete all assessments.

Academics who are post-PhD can 'sit in' and do not have to complete the assessments.
