The ability to communicate in a confident, effective and engaging way is a critical skill for contemporary researchers, whether it’s speaking to a potential industry partner, delivering a paper at a conference, talking to the media, or any other kind of research presentation.
But speaking in public can be a challenge for many of us. What do our bodies do when we are presenting? What about our posture, our hands, our eyes? Nerves and anxiety can also get in the way of a great presentation. This workshop by renowned acting coach Maude Davey will help you understand the role your body and voice play in communicating your message and how you can best harness them to control nerves and be confident, coherent and memorable, no matter what context you are presenting in.
This is a Zoom-based session.
