About this event

There is a monster in the woods. It’s yellow jaws devouring trees, consuming nature and dissolving boundaries between us and the natural world. When the battlelines are drawn, who’s side will you be on? The tree-eaters? Or the creatures arising to defend it?

Participants will take the deliberate and unsustainable carving-up of our natural landscapes as its creative starting point.

Using a mash-up of magazine photographs, scraps of paper, paint and other drawing materials, participants will follow in the footsteps of Hannah Hoch and the Dadaists, to create cut-paper photomontage characters that protect our environment, our very own environmental defenders

Suitable for ages 14-17 years.

About the venue: The Museum of Art and Culture (MAC, yapang) is located at the end of First Street, Booragul, on the edge of Lake Macquarie. MAC has ramp access for wheelchairs and prams, baby changing facilities and accessible toilets.

MAC can be reached easily from the lake foreshore cycleway, the water, or by public transport. There is plenty of parking for cars, and buses with accessible spaces available, onsite and adjacent to the Hunter Rowing Club.

Please note there is no need to print your tickets off for this event, the staff can provide electronic check upon entry.
