Join us to celebrate the opening of BIG FACE, an exhibition by Aidan Rowlingson. Aidan is a Brisbane-based creative and a proud Butchulla man of K’gari and the Wide Bay area.
Coming from a performance background, Aidan deconstructs physiognomy through a social context.
“I spend a lot of time trying to understand people. I find it difficult to read their faces, often going over situations in my head on repeat. I'm visiting this planet for the first time. I guess we all are.”
This exhibition is a collection of Aidan Rowlingson’s observations as he creates a growing library of iconography. He draws on the meditative process of repetition as he imagines storylines for people, places and culture. Through Aidan’s humorous and often biting observations he paints an irreverent picture of our times.
