Christian White - The Ledge (Australian crime fiction)

In The Ledge, past and present run breathlessly parallel, leading to a climax that will change everything you thought you knew. This is a mind-bending new novel from the master of the unexpected. Highly recommended by Kat, it was her favourite novel of 2024!

Christian White is an Australian author and screenwriter whose credits include feature film Relic, Netflix series Clickbait and numerous other projects in the pipeline. His debut novel The Nowhere Child was one of Australia's bestselling debut novels ever, with rights sold in 17 international territories and a major screen deal. Christian's second book, The Wife and the Widow (2019),and third, Wild Place (2021), were instant bestsellers. The Ledge is his fourth novel.

Anna Ciddor - Moonboy (children's fiction)

An exciting timeslip novel from the bestselling author of The Boy Who Stepped Through Time, featuring a present-day girl hurtling back to the time of the 1969 moon landing.

Anna Ciddor has been fascinated by the past for as long as she can remember. Even as a child, she spent hours immersing herself in research, digging out the tiniest details so she could imagine being a person living in the olden days. As an adult she has successfully turned this passion into a career, but nowadays, she is just as likely to mine for details in her own childhood, creating stories out of the strange, intriguing and totally different world of the 1960s!

Amanda Hampson - The Deadly Dispute (cozy crime fiction)

Solving crimes, one cuppa at a time. The highly anticipated new book in the award-winning Australian series The Tea Ladies. Murder and Mayhem on the waterfront. It's time for the Tea Ladies!

Melbourne-based author Amanda Hampson has been writing professionally for more than thirty years and is the bestselling author of nine novels- The Olive Sisters, Two for the Road, The French Perfumer, The Yellow Villa, Sixty Summers, Lovebirds, The Tea Ladies, The Cryptic Clue and her forthcoming release, The Deadly Dispute.

Bo Kitty - Always Eat the Weird Stuff (autobiographical)

Always Eat The Weird Stuff came to life after many years of healing and breaking generational trauma which Bo shares openly and vulnerably. The book is told through short vignettes - moments in time. The aspiration behind the book was to reach those not yet brave enough to face their fears; for men to understand women better; and for women who are unlearning behaviors and reparenting themselves as adults.
Bo Kitty is a business coach, known for straight-shooting truth and remaining true to herself while at it. A digital pioneer, Bo has been disrupting the internet with her unique blend of wit and wisdom for nearly three decades. Her writing touches on the raw, unfiltered reality of life, love and the pursuit of authenticity.

Christine Newell - Five Seasons in Seoul (travel narrative memoir, by a Camberwell local)

Christine thought a year in South Korea would hit the pause button on her messy life. Her dad's death had left her anxious and depressed, and her career in musical theatre had reached a new low of shopping-centre kids' shows. When she found herself pulled over by the side of the road, dressed as a dinosaur and sobbing uncontrollably, it was clear something had to change.

As a professional musical theatre performer, Christine has always been a storyteller. In 2016, she wrote and produced her own one-woman show, Places I Have Been, which premiered to a sold-out audience at the Kew Court House and inspired her to write her memoir. Christine is currently completing a Master of Arts in Writing and Literature at Deakin University. Her musical theatre credits include the Australian productions of The Sound of Music, The Wizard of Oz and Anything Goes. When Christine isn't writing she can usually be found enjoying a coffee at her local caf, watching K-dramas with her cat Darcy by her side or planning her future travels.

Alison Pouliot - Funga Obscura: Photo journeys among fungi (nature writing, nonfiction)

A visual love letter, in Funga Obscura, ecologist Alison Pouliot brings guides us through the forrest to share stunning photographs and writing on fungi across Australia and the globe.

Alison Pouliot is an ecologist and environmental photographer with a focus on fungi. Her journeys in search of fungi span northern and southern hemispheres, ensuring two autumns and a double dose of fungi each year. Alison is the author of Underground Lovers (NewSouth, 2023, published as Meetings with Remarkable Mushrooms by Chicago University Press, 2023), The Allure of Fungi and co-author of Wild Mushrooming.
