About this event

Mingle Co understands how important it is for everyone to have an equal opportunity to socialise and connect with others. Our friend pairing events are specially crafted to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for individuals who identify as neurodiverse.

Here's what you can expect when you attend our event:

  • A warm ambience & safe space where you can relax and be yourself.
  • sensory & neuroqueer friendly.
  • An opportunity to expand your social circle and make new friends.
  • Each guest has a brief one-on-one conversation with potential friends to identify those with whom a friendship could develop. You will be given a clipboard to write the other guests names, all guests will rotate around the tables to have the opportunity to meet everyone.
  • Self-diagnosed neurodivergent individuals are welcomed to this event.
  • No rejections, our focus is on creating an inclusive environment where everyone can connect and form friendships.
  • A fun and engaging atmosphere with icebreaker cards to help you get to know one another.
  • Professional and friendly event hosts who are dedicated to making your experience as enjoyable as possible.
  • The activity lasts for just over 2 hours, where each guest has 8 minutes to ask their new friend questions. (toilet and drink breaks half way)
  • each guest will receive a self-care goodie bag sponsored by Priceline Pharmacy The Avenues
  • Each guest will go in the draw to win a hamper from Rustic Hamper Co
  • Complimentary drinks on arrival, grazing platter to share and mingle (please e-mail event organiser if you have any special food requirements)
  • On-site parking & security, wheel chair accessibility, accessible and gender neutral toilets.
  • You're welcome to bring a support person (to help with your nerves).
  • Hosts will email guests the following day with possible friend matches.

Meet your hosts: Vee and Derek have 27 years of experience between them working in the disability sector. Vee brings her passion towards social inclusion and Derek brings his acting background and comedic character to the event.

Host will email guests 7 days prior to the event to share "meet the team " and more event details so guest can be more familiarised with the event.

Heating and cooling systems will be tailored to match the outdoor weather conditions or the preferences of our guests.

Photography & videography will be undertaken at this event and will be shared on social media and other platforms. Guests can choose not to have their photos taken upon arrival. No flash will be used.

This event is tailored for neurodiverse women, with separate sessions based on age groups. One group is for ages 18-29, while the other is for ages 30-40. All women will the opportunity to participate, but during friend matching, they will be grouped according to these two age categories.
