Welcome to the Studio Tour of Vogue Living and Indesign magazine's 2024 Product Designer of the Year, Dr Trent Jansen

What makes an artisan? What inspires an artistic endevour that draws acclaim from the all those who would seek to consider?

The Illawarra Festival of Architecture & Design is honoured to celebrate Trent Jansen's work. A Thirroul local and national icon, Trent Jansen generously welcomes our community into his studio where he will share more about his motivations to create furntiure pieces that challenge our complaceny in many ways.

He will discuss his process to delve deep into the historical, material, and culture contexts of the narratives he investigates. These investigations more often focus on the intersections between First Nation and Migrant Australian narratives.
