About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

‘Glover Country’ is the name that famous Australian Impressionist artist Tom Roberts gave to the plains and hills south of Evandale in Tasmania, where colonial artist John Glover (1767 – 1849) lived from 1831 to his death.

The Patterdale, Tasmania homestead and surrounding landscapes that Glover famously painted in Glover Country are still very much intact, providing visitors with a timeless experience where they can:

  • Explore Glover's residence and studio
  • Stroll through fields and paddocks that Glover once did
  • Enjoy a picnic with local produce (refreshments provided, bring your own picnic)

Included in the House & Garden Tour & Self-Guided Walk:

  • House, garden and studio tour
  • View a collection of contemporary Tasmanian landscape paintings
  • Self-guided Glover painting walks
  • Refreshments available (bring your own picnic)

You will begin the house tour at the studio at 173 Uplands Road, Deddington TAS

All entrance fees to contribute to the maintenance of Glover's historic homestead and the newly created garden
