Yes! Participation in our Hidden Gem Race is completely free.

Can I participate in a team?

Accepted Answer

Yes! If you want to compete as a family, as a couple, or with mates, you are more than welcome. Better yet you will start with 1000 bonus points for each player! Get everyone in your team to get a ticket through Eventbrite and email us at contact@beyonder.com your team name and participant names.

Do we have to start & end the race in the same place?

Accepted Answer

No. You can begin the race from wherever you like. All locations in the Race Map are marked throughout the Great Ocean Road region and the beauty of this event is that there are no start or finish lines. Just you, the road & your gem hunting strategy!

How do the family prizes work?

Accepted Answer

Families will now only be racing against other families making it easier for them to complete the fun photo challenges with their kids at locations and times better suited to their capabilities!

Can we race at night?

Accepted Answer

We want all our competitors to be kept safe during our GOR Gem Race so this means all point scoring for natural and man-made attractions will be closed after 8 pm and won't reopen till 7 am. All businesses have the potential to remain open later but this will depend on their actual opening hours.

Do we have to compete in the race for the whole 8 days?

Nope :) We understand 8 days is a huge commitment to be travelling in an event like this and we imagine that most competitors will be jumping in and out of the race during its dates. We have purposely created a prize pool big enough so that either way competitors will have a huge chance of winning!

What materials do we need for the race?

All you need is a mode of transport, a mobile phone & yourself! None of the photo challenges require external materials, just a bit of creativity from you!

How do we score points?

Accepted Answer

Beyonder will have a 'Race Map' with all the gem locations marked. A unique photo challenge will need to be completed at each, which you will then share via Beyonder's 'Submit photo' feature. Your photo will then need to be approved and if successful your points will be added to the leaderboard!
