Explore lino printing and hand-colouring techniques with Donna Gordge of Stitch Paint Burn Studio in the beautiful surrounds of Fabrik Arts + Heritage, Lobethal.

In this beginner-friendly workshop, you'll learn the fundamental skills of linocut printmaking, including planning and carving your design, inking the block, and printing your image onto paper using hand-burnishing methods.

Next, discover how to add vibrant pops of colour to your prints with watercolour paints. Donna will guide you through the process of colour mixing and application, teaching you how to create stunning effects and enhance your prints with beautiful colour elements.

During this hands-on class, you will:

  • Understand the materials, tools, and techniques used in linocut printing.
  • Create your own unique 15x15cm linocut design.
  • Learn proper inking and printing methods.
  • Explore the basics of watercolour painting.
  • Experiment with colour mixing and application techniques.
  • Complete a series of unique, mixed-media prints showcasing your new skills.

No prior experience is required for this workshop.

BYO lunch - we'll have a half hour break.

All materials will be provided, and you'll leave with your own beautiful prints and the knowledge to continue your creative journey in printmaking and watercolour art.

Donna Gordge is an artist and arts educator who has enjoyed sharing her skills and knowledge for 30 years. Donna teaches a broad range of workshops from her home studio, Stitch Paint Burn Studio, in Camden Park, and all around Adelaide, the Adelaide Hills, and the Barossa. From time to time she teaches in regional South Australia and Victoria. She loves encouraging people to try something new and creative, and caters very well for beginners!
