Home of filmmaker Aree Kapa, Te Kao will be the northernmost screening of He Waiora. Aree was raised in Te Kao and has always dreamed of sharing her mahi with her whānau up home. Now with this screening she can do that. The Retrieval is Aree’s directorial debut film, written by writer/producer Matilda Poasa.
He Waiora is a collection of 8 short films made by a new generation of talented emerging young Māori filmmakers. These films are developed and produced by Māoriland Film Festival rangatahi development programme - the Ngā Pakiaka Incubator Programme.
