We warmly invite you to attend the CCQ Clinical Society event in Noosa, at Noosa Springs Golf and Spa Resort in May:
‘Health without a Home: Rethinking Healthcare’s Role in Homelessness’.
Overview:
Homelessness is a growing issue across our region—with serious implications for both individual and community health.
People experiencing homelessness are more likely to face chronic disease, mental illness and preventable conditions, yet struggle to access timely care. Poor health can be both a cause and a consequence of homelessness, creating a cycle that’s difficult to break.
This round of Clinical Societies will explore how clinicians, communities and health systems can work together to address this complex challenge.
Join more than 1,600 healthcare professionals across the Country to Coast QLD region to:
✔ Build awareness of homelessness and health
✔ Share evidence-based strategies that improve outcomes
✔ Explore cross-sector opportunities for local collaboration
✔ Strengthen equity-driven care in your clinical practice
Learning objectives:
- Understand equity’s impact on health outcomes across the region.
- Assess evidence-based strategies that improve health for people experiencing homelessness.
- Identify opportunities for cross-sector, local collaboration to improve care access and coordination.
- Explore the interconnection between health, housing and social supports—and the importance of a systems approach.
- Apply equity-focused practices to clinical care, including addressing unconscious bias and engaging patients as partners.
