Activity 1: Cassy the Cat Acrylic Painting

This popular class will ensure your child learns how to draw and then paint the shapes making up this friendly furry cat. Participants will mix different colours, use different paintbrush techniques, and learn how to draw, then paint beautiful eyes and light reflections. Flowers are collaged to add a colourful flower crown, and some pretty details in the background

**Canvas is available for $10

Activity 2: Favourite Animal Pottery

Children love getting their hands dirty with clay. Participants will be guided to create their favourite animal. Each animal body is made up of simple shapes like spheres and cylinders, we then add details like legs, ears, tails etc. We explore the correct joining techniques so each item will stick together securely. Textures and details will be added at the end.

Teacher: Hi my name is Cheryl and I am a Buderim artist. I spent my younger years living here and attending local schools. This a beautiful part of the world with a creative and supportive community. I love it!

My favourite art is painting large scale canvases.

I have a teaching degree, QCT and Blue Card current registrations. My experiences range from teaching visual arts at Immanuel Primary School, Matthew Flinders Anglican College, and overseas schools. At the Paintbox studio, I bring a nurturing style, encouraging each individual to be creative, use their skills and self expression.
