About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

Do you want to learn about how to effectively market your new small business? Or do you have an idea you need to promote to get your first customers?

Whether you have a business idea to bring to life or have been in business for a while, this event will teach you the tools to attract the right customers and make more sales.

Join experienced business advisor Stephen Hansen from Rural Business Tasmania, who delivers the Tasmanian Government's New Business Support Pilot Program. Stephen will show you how to develop effective sales and marketing in your small business.

At the event, you will learn:

  • How to understand your product and how it is perceived by the market, considering naming, descriptions, branding, packaging, sizing and pricing.
  • How to gain understanding of your target market and how to connect with them.
  • How to craft your marketing and communications strategy.
  • How to determine the actions and timing of your marketing activities.

Stephen will share how people thinking about starting a business and those in their first year of business can receive up to two hours of free advice under the New Business Support Pilot Program.

Kelly Brown, the Manager of the Business Tasmania service, will share how Business Tasmania help people to start, run and grow their business by offering personalised assistance, information and access to a range of services and programs from the Department of State Growth and other government agencies. The Business Tasmania team make it easier for the community to talk to government and access available support.

Everyone is welcome to attend this free event, whether you’re a business owner, operator or dreaming of getting started.

Light refreshments will be served and free parking is available at the venue.
