About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

As part of Advance Module A: Textual Conversations students will have the option of studying one of the following pairs of texts:

· John Keats'The Complete Poems & Jane Campion's Bright Star.

· William Shakespeare's The Tempest & Margaret Atwood's Hag-Seed.

· John Donne's A Selection of His Poetry & Margaret Edson'sWit.

· Albert Camus' The Stranger & Kamel Daoud's, The Meursault Investigation.

· William Shakespeare's King Richard III & Al Pacino's Looking for Richard.

· Virginia Woolf's Mrs Dalloway & Stephen Daldry's The Hours.

· Sylvia Plath's Ariel & Ted Hughes' Birthday Letters.

In this workshop students will reflect upon the ways in which the comparative study of two texts align and collide in their respective conventions, contexts, values, and purpose. Students will also consider what connects the two texts, what ideas have been recycled and how contexts can shape a text, revealing their resonances and dissonances.

Please bring a fully charged laptop, snacks and a water bottle.

Reserve copies of the prescribed texts here.
