About this event
November 9th and 10th 2024
Welcome to the Compassionate Futures Colloquium!
Amidst escalating global crises such as climate change, social inequality, homelessness, population displacement and widespread mental health issues, Buddhism offers profound insights and practices for cultivating insight, compassion, and interconnectedness. By embracing these teachings, we can foster a more harmonious and resilient world, grounded in collective well-being and ethical action.
As part of the commemorations of the life and achievements of the late Venerable Master Hsing Yun, founder of Fo Guang Shan Buddhist order and advocate of Humanistic Buddhism, we invite you to join this Humanistic Buddhism Colloquium on Compassionate Futures to explore methods for dealing with the crises our world is facing. Specifically, this event is dedicated to exploring the future of compassion in various contexts, and will explore topics such as Humanistic Buddhism, the environment, Buddhist spiritual care, the power of compassion, compassion as an antidote to social problems, pathways to more compassionate futures, and related areas. The colloquium promises a rich and diverse exchange of ideas.
This event will be held online via zoom
