About this event

  • Event lasts 1 day 4 hours

Women experiencing family violence often have multiple pressing legal matters that must be dealt with in different courts, in different jurisdictions and under different legislation. You will often be the first point of contact for women at risk or experiencing family violence. Being able to identify your client's legal issues and provide legal information, will support her to better navigate the legal system.

Who should attend?

Specialist family violence practitioners, foundations. Note this is not MARAM training.

Online training

  • 2 half-days 9.30am - 1.30pm.
  • Wednesday 4 December & Thursday 5 December

What will you learn?

  • How to identify critical and urgent legal issues and how to ask the right questions at the right time
  • Legal essentials in family violence, family law and child protection law
  • How to provide appropriate legal information to clients
  • How the legal referral process works, working with lawyers and supporting your client through the legal system

What will you receive?

You will receive a soft copy of WLSV’s Critical Legal Issues Map - a family violence legal triage practice manual designed specifically to assist practitioners to guide and support clients through the legal system.

Further details will be sent after registration.
