About this event

MDWRC: Illuminating Women’s Safety

In partnership with Knog and V1 Studios, Melbourne Design Week is teaming up with New Balance Ambassador, Katie Kelso, for an evening run with a purpose. Join us for a brief Q&A with Katherine Newton and Tom Robinson of V1 Studios, whose HER Move campaign raises funds to empower elite female athletes with their associated challenges and expenses. We will also discuss issues all women encounter in their fitness journeys – including the act of simply leaving the safety of home.

100% of the profit generated via ticket sales will be donated to HER Move.

The night will be illuminated with a selection of headlamps by Knog, which will be distributed to all attendees prior to the 5km run throughout Collingwood and Abbotsford.
At the conclusion of the run, participants can opt to purchase their headlamps, with all profits also being donated to HER Move.

Whilst the event aims to be as inclusive as possible, we recommend being comfortable running between 5:30-6:30 min/kms, with planned stops throughout the run. There will be people leading from the front and back of the group to ensure everyone is accounted for at all times.

You can view the route here.
All genders and allies welcome.

Looking forward to reclaiming the streets with you!
