In this 8 week Group Mind class you will explore how to improvise group scenes successfully for the stage.
Group Mind will hone your ability to work as a group and create scenes with multiple performers, as well as how to incorporate them into long form improvisation. Group Mind is the fourth class in Big Fork’s Improv Foundations program.
Specific skills and topics covered:
- Developing group mind
- Sharing focus in a group scene
- Creating characters to support the group
- Types of group scenes and games
- Heightened listening
- Intermediate long form techniques
Successful completion of Foundations 3: Characters is required to take this class. Exemption may be granted to improvisers with previous experience under certain circumstances, please contact the training director at training@bigforktheatre.com to discuss.
This course meets for 8 sessions that are each 3 hours long.

About Big Fork Theatre
Big Fork Theatre is dedicated to long form improvisation in the Chicago and New York style, as made famous by Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Mike Myers. Big Fork primarily focuses on comedic improvisation.
Big Fork's teachers have many years experience both in teaching and performing, many of whom have traveled around the world to learn from some of the best improv teachers there are. Our teachers are committed to creating a fun and enriching environment to learn in and grow the Brisbane improvisational community.

This course runs for 8 weeks from the start date. For example, if you sign up for the course starting Wednesday 7th February the class would meet every Wednesday at the same time for 8 weeks.
Yes, all sessions are covered in the one cost. Your enrolment also gives you access to watch shows at Big Fork Theatre for free while you are a student with us!
You must be 18 years or older to participate in our classes. Under 18 and want to improvise? Contact training@bigforktheatre.com for info on upcoming youth classes.
