Meet Ron Monnier: A Visionary Artist and Storyteller

Ron Monnier is a celebrated artist and designer whose work transcends traditional boundaries, blending strong conceptual ideas with a diverse range of artistic styles. With over 30 years of commercial creative experience, he has illustrated for various traditional publishers. His art has been showcased in exhibitions in Brisbane and New York, highlighting his global appeal and artistic versatility.

What to Expect:

Interactive Demonstrations: Join an exquisite corpse collage activity, where you'll combine pre-cut elements to create unique and whimsical artworks as Ron Monnier showcases his collage techniques and shares insights into his creative process.

Hands-On Printing: Create your own limited-edition prints using laser-engraved woodblocks designed by Ron, guided by the expertise of Clint Harvey and the Moveable Type Studio.

Take Home: Each participant will leave with a beautifully crafted letterpress poster and their own handmade collage.

Materials Provided: All necessary materials and tools will be provided, including pre-cut collage elements, printing supplies, and more.

Is the studio wheelchair accessible?

Yes, The Moveable Type Studio is wheelchair accessible, however please keep in mind that a 40 foot shipping container is a relatively confined workspace.

What health and safety aspects do I need to consider?

Fully enclosed shoes, long hair tied back, no jewellery on wrists or fingers, no hanging sleeves, please keep in mind that your clothes may get ink on them!

Weather considerations

Because the studio is in a 40 foot shipping container, we’re at the mercy of the weather gods! Sometimes we will need to reschedule events and bookings subject to the weather
