Course Overview
At the beginning of this workshop, we will do some getting-to-know-you type activities. Everybody will tell me what they hope this workshop will bring for them. Then, participants will present their specific learning objectives so that we can all make sure we are setting ourselves up for success.
Topics covered in this course
What Really Needs To Be Done?
This class session outlines ways to delegate tasks and resources to achieve optimal efficiency.
The Work Breakdown Structure
With project organisations increasingly recognising the value of a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) – see the Agile Manifesto 2001 – this session will help you understand what it is and offer guidance on how to build yours.
Scheduling Techniques
Buckle up! This session will help you to develop your skills in estimating job timeframes, and provide you with some great planning aids – including Gantts, milestone trees, action worksheets, network maps and flowcharts – to see a venture through from concept to delivery!
Budgeting Tips and Tricks
After learning the basics of budgeting during the lecture presentation, the participants will then proceed to evaluate and conduct an analysis of an actual case study; this would be the next immediate step for our participants to ensure that the project progresses in a dynamic and effective manner!
Assessing Project Risks
We will discuss on how to recognize and control risk to avoid danger.
Preparing the Final Plan
This is why we spend so much time planning our projects today: our ‘big’ plan at the end of all that planning will enable us, and our team, to achieve victory.
Making it Fit
And in this session, we’ll look at how to work out what to do about these obstacles, how they can become opportunities, and how you can turn things around to a position of success.
The Execution Phase
Today’s session will cover the critical steps that you need to take in order to help you transition from the brief to getting the job done – from holding status meetings and proactively managing issues to establishing reporting guidelines.
Controlling Changes
OK, let’s explore how to make your projects successful again. We’ll guide you through hosting great status meetings and dealing with problems quickly. Let’s talk about best practices to get the most out of your teams!
Closing out a Project
This session will offer help for developing and implementing an effective approach anytime you’re working on any project!
Workshop Wrap-Up
After the online course, your participants will soon have the opportunity to test their new skills with tailored action plans. The final section will allow time for follow-up questions and answers.
