About this event

  • Event lasts 1 day 6 hours

During this 2-day holiday workshop, Bryan will demonstrate his mech design workflow, helping students approach drawing mechs more easily while incorporating techniques to create more interesting and functional designs.

This workshop is perfect for those who are interested in mechs or find designing them challenging.

What you will need:

We recommend that workshop attendees download the software prior to the first day so that you can give your full attention during the workshop.

Hardware:

A laptop and drawing tablet (eg. Wacom and Huion have good drawing tablets) so that you can follow along, as we do not supply any equipment for our workshops.

If you don't have any of the above items, a sketchbook and pencils, markers will be okay, but be mindful that Bryan will use digital rendering techniques using Photoshop.

iPads may be used, although they don't run Photoshop very well. You can draw and paint with them using Procreate or take notes if you wish.

Software:

Adobe Photoshop - You can take up a 7-day trial if you haven't used it before and would like to try it out. It will ask you for payment details when you sign up, however if you don't wish to continue using it after the workshop you can just cancel it. Alternatively you may wish to use another painting or drawing program such as Manga studio, Krita, Corel Painter, Heavypaint, or Gimp. All demonstrations will be done using Photoshop.
