The Winter Solstice is a magical time when many head to the Blue Mountains to celebrate the shortest day and longest night of the year. A night that is about celebrating the lightness in the dark, where traditional the sun stopping is celebrated and a night of darkness decadence and debachery ensues. KINKY KABARET is celebrating the LONGEST NIGHT by offering a longer show celebrating sensuality and darkness.

Ethereal Beings is an opulent feast for all of your senses. A tribute to fantasy and other worldly creatures this show will take you on a journey where we lift the lid of reality and celebrate mythology, fantasy, literature and film and run away with the fae to a world of aesthetic pleasure. The space will be transformed into realm of light and fantasy. Expect to come into contact with creatures from fae to succubus, demons to deities, creatures of magick and mythology and all forms of otherworldly creatures of beauty. Each act is a curated cosplay, fairytale story and display and celebration of beauty like you have never seen before. We celebrate the surreal, the dark, the quirky, sensual an unusual at our shows. PORCELAIN DOLL

Porcelain Doll is the perfect former Miss Pinup International edition Doll you bought from that tremendous little vintage boutique. At first glance, she is purity personified, sitting in the corner, the complacent representation of all "good" girls doing as she is told. Only what she is permitted. Only speaking when spoken to, her face a beautiful mask of perfect Porcelain. She is all good girls. All well behaved women. All the dolls on the dollhouse shelf. You look closer and notice her eyes and the stories they can tell. The darkness within makes you uncomfortable, and you shake off your instinct to consider this Doll a living, breathing human being. You play with her, as usual, removing her clothes and dressing her up in the outfits you choose, maneuvering her into all kinds of scenes and positions, and all the while, she smiles. She's such an obedient little dolly. All just for you.

At first, you convince yourself you are mistaken about those objects that moved around your house overnight. You tell yourself her expression couldn't have changed, and you imagine that that obedient, gentle smile has slowly warped into a sinister smirk. And what is that sound? It couldn't be coming from the Doll…

It couldn't be...

Then the Doll removes her clothes and mask, and suddenly you realise she was a living, breathing, feeling being all along…

As her smile turns to a smirk as tightens your ropes and she licks your blood from her fingers. You can't help but remember how you treated her when you denied her humanity.

VELVETINA

Born and raised in the beautiful Blue Mountains, Velvetina was attracted to glamour, beauty and movement from an early age. After an inspiring performance at 5 years old as 'Nina Ballerina', she was told by doctors her ankles were not up to dancing. After years of self-doubt and insecurity she was re-inspired at the age of 15 by local dance icon Devi Mamak and the world of Bellydance, to overcome these issues and dance again.

The glitz and glamour, and alluring costumes and design of the exotic world of Bellydance started her on a the journey towards earning her accreditation in ATS Teacher Training (now Fat Chance Belly Dance style). She has taken forays into Cuban Salsa, Indian Fusion and Flamenco to broaden her dancing horizons. Over the years she has been lucky to learn from local and international teachers in the many forms of Bellydance. She also took an inspiring workshop tour of Italy, her ancestral homeland, learning from many international Fusion Bellydance teachers she had idolised for years.During all this, she has been developing her love of Funk, Jazz, Soul and Blues music, which has led to personal explorations in expressive improvised dance. Velvetina is excited to explore the new paths that old traditions can take as she brings a her Luna Moth, part bellydance, part burlesque, part kinky dark art - to our stage!

THE SIREN

The Siren is a trained triple threat dancer/singer/actor, part-time musical theatre performer, and choreographer. She is a full-time curvy cutie and ambassador for acceptance of all bodies in dance, who is loving teaching other burly babes to embrace their bodies and her curves give Jessica Rabbit a run for her money!

A seductive siren, most at home luring sailors to their death at sea, Siren can be found seducing unsuspecting crowds on stages around NSW. Siren has found an empowering space to celebrate every inch of herself in the art form that is burlesque, and would love to celebrate every inch of her body with you. She joins us for Ethereal Beings as she explores her fall from grace with one of her favourite crowds!

MINERVA MIDNIGHT:

Minerva Midnight will cast a spell on you, and then you may want to be hers. Allow yourself to be enchanted and enthralled by her ability to tell stories through art. Minerva’s ability to channel her power and prowess into performing, will leave you wanting more.

Minerva has been performing most of her life in styles such as Jazz, Latin & Ballroom. Minerva has always loved the glitz and glamour of dance, but longed for more body positivity in the dance world. This lead Minerva to her newest pursuit of burlesque which she has been doing for just over a year. Learning from the vast knowledge of “Porcelain Doll” and “Mama Medusa” this newest performance is sure to be a feast for the eyes and the soul.

Minerva is going to take us on a trip through the underworld as Persephone, but not as you may know her. The story of Persephone and Hades is one told time and time again but I can assure you that it’s probably never been told like this. Has anyone ever wondered what would happen if Persephone was in charge of her own fate? Book your ticket to find out!

This show is run in a humanist/feminist framework and no disrespectful behaviour towards performers, attendees or venue staff will be permitted. Remember consent is sexy! No photography or filming permitted by audience members of the show. This is a BYO event. Photos only permitted of attendees with consent. Non consensual touching of any patron or performer will result in immediate ejection from the venue and police will be called if necessary. This is a safe space for LGBTIQA+ performers and you can expect to find performers from all over the rainbow being themselves on stage. Any bigotted behaviour will result in immediate removal from the event and venue with no refund given. This is a condition of entry.
