About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

This is an opportunity to gather together in community to walk the labyrinth. Bookings required. If you are no longer able to attend please let the organiser know so people on the waiting list can be offered a space.

We will gather, learn about labyrinths, and engage in a self-reflective walk. Will will reflect on what harmony means to us. After your walk there will be opportunity to draw or journal about your experience, and an invitation to add some words to the Wishing Tree. You can wear the colour ORANGE for Harmony day!

Harmony Day is a day to celebrate cultural diversity. Did you know that labyrinths are culturally diverse too! Ancient labyrinths have been found on every continent except Australia. I will show examples of many different types of labyrinths found worldwide showing their diversity. You are welcome to bring food or items from your culture to share with us.

Arrive from 6pm for a BYO picnic dinner and time to explore resources, followed by the walk starting at 7pm.

All ages are welcome. Supervision of children are the responsibility of parent/caregivers.

Donations: Donations from this walk will go to Vets for Compassion. You can donate direct here.

Donations are requested for the event to go directly to the wildlife carers supporting our local wildlife in the Grampians/Gariwerd (fire recovery and medical care). Wildlife carers supply feed, bedding and equipment for the animals in their care until they are ready to return to the wild. They are volunteers and receive no funding. If you're unable to attend but can donate, please do.

Please donate online or in person donations can also be received on the day.

Bring: We are outdoors so please wear weather appropiate clothing, bring water bottles, hats/sunscreen, or anything else you may need.

Directions: parking at the end of Ramsden St (at the cricket club), take the path at the very end of the carpark , the path will come to a t-intersection, turn left, continue on this path straight ahead (don't go up the hill path), the labyrinth is on the left where there is a grassy opening, it is a 5 minute walk from the carpark. I will have a yellow flag on the path indicating where we are.

Accessibility: The labyrinth has narrow paths which are lined with bluestones. If you are unable to walk the labyrinth please let Tash know (contact the organiser via Eventbrite) as she can provide you with a handheld labyrinth you can use seated or standing. The area directly surrounding the labyrinth is grassed. Pathways along the Merri Creek Trail are smooth surfaced, and some areas have some incline/decline.
