Revered Melbourne songwriter Laura Jean embarks on a national tour to celebrate the tenth anniversary and limited vinyl reissue of her debut album Our Swan Song.
Laura will play Sydney backed by the Letter String Quartet and drummer David Williams (Augie March), performing an overview of her decade-long career. She will be joined by rising New Zealand star Nadia Reid and Sydney local Georgia Mulligan.
Released in 2006 to rave reviews and triple j high rotation, the lush, pastoral Our Swan Song announced Laura as a powerful new voice in Australian music. In the decade since, Laura has become iconic, renowned for the striking beauty of her music and the strength of her piercing, intimate lyrics. Her albums have been shortlisted for the Australian Music Prize, and nominated for multiple Age Music Victoria Awards. She has recorded with Paul Kelly and The Drones, toured with Adalita, Seeker Lover Keeper, Jenny Hval and Marlon Williams, and performed at the National Gallery Of Victoria, Dark Mofo and Sydney Town Hall.
