What Does Being a Supervisor Mean?

In this session, you will explore emerging perspectives on the role of the supervisor and the implications for related responsibilities. You will also gain knowledge of current challenges for supervisees and supervisors, and create a road map for realising your potential as a supervisor by fostering ongoing professional learning through your career.

Working through others

This session will encourage participants to understand how to support the development of motivation in staff, and how to design and deliver a learning environment that promotes students’ motivation based upon the principles of Maslow’s Hierarchy.

Sustaining high performing teams

Over the course of this session, participants will gain an in-depth understanding of the employee onboarding process; from how to capitalise on the commitment curve and assess performance.

Coaching for change

Today we’ll look at the GROW Coaching Model, an effective tool for change management to stimulate meaningful conversation. We’ll review the potential benefits – and risks – of matrix structures, so you’ll be well-prepared to guide transformation at your place of work.

Getting the problems solved

Know this problem-solving model by heart, and you’ll learn how to spot problems and then take action on them. Follow our bonus tips and learn how to turn this into a power tool in your arsenal!

Making the right decisions

Now participants will dive into the various components of making a decision, and how to hone those skills to help with the judgement process, while learning about potential pitfalls to avoid.

Workshop Wrap-Up

To put it in one word, the course aims at making learners understand the different categories of decision-making skills as well as equipping them with various types of rational decision-making. Besides, they will have an insight into how to detect early warning signs which could prompt them toward the common dilemmas such as making a decision trap. At the end, all the attendants will have a dialogue with each other to share their ideas and come up with any practical plans of action.
