Who is this talk for?

This talk is perfect for those who would like to prevent falls themselves. And it is also perfect for carers, significant others, sons, daughters and friends who would like to learn how to provide assistance to their client/loved one and to help reduce their risk of falls.

Why is falls prevention important?

After the age of 60 our risk of having a fall increases. Falls can lead to injury, hospitalisation and in severe cases falls can be fatal. Falls reduces walking confidence, and can lead to social isolation. Therefore, it is so important that we aim to avoid falls in the first place, to the best of our ability. And we will be talking about this at our upcoming falls prevention talk.

Topics included on the day:

  • What causes falls?
  • Environmental risk factors
