Perfect for those who are keen to get some stage time and take their improv skills to the next level!


Strengthen your improvisation skills with this super advanced course from the SYDNEY COMEDY SCHOOL.


This course is for you if you have completed our Level 3 Improv Course or if you have completed three terms of improv at another school.


During the course you will gain insight into new improv formats and have regular chances to perform to improve your style and humour.


During this four-week course, you will have the opportunity to perform 2-4 times in front of a public audience.


  • This course focuses on performance techniques and improving your stagecraft.
  • No scripts, no pressure—just nonstop laughs with improv theatre!


After class there is optional food and drinks at a nearby bar!


CONTENT:

The Level 4 course focuses on the following core elements:

  • Stagecraft and wowing an audience
  • A range of performance structures
  • Techniques to deepen your onstage humour


TIMINGS:

2pm - 4pm: Class (sessions will run for four weeks at the same time that is listed in the ticket).

4pm - onwards: Optional lunch and drinks with the class

VALUE OF IMPROV:

Improv can help you to be more charismatic and confident socially and professionally! It will deepen your skills in being able to think more quickly on your feet, improve your public speaking, and help you to be a better communicator in a range of settings. Plus it's a lot of fun!


Improv, or improvisational theatre as it's also known, lies at the intersection between drama and humour. We blend a range of storytelling and comedy techniques in all of our classes, and infuse them with Theatresports-like concepts and ideas.

Frequently asked questions

I did improv previously, is it okay for me to join the Level 4 course?

Yes if you've completed 3 terms of an improv course or equivalent previously, then you may go straight into this course.

I speak English as a second language - is that okay?

Absolutely. A sizeable cohort of people in our class are from overseas. The comedy is not based on your skill of English. This class would be suitable for anyone with intermediate English-speaking skills.

Do I have to stay for food and drinks afterwards?

You can go home straight away, or stick around to get to know everyone - it's very much up to you. We have a little community and if you'd like to join us afterwards to hang out, you're very welcome to.

Do I have to perform?

While you don't have to, the class will be teaching performance-based techniques.

How old do I have to be to participate?

All attendees to this course must be 18+. Under 18 and want to improvise? Contact us for more information.

I'm a beginner - will this be difficult?

Complete beginners are encouraged to complete our beginner's course.
