About this event
- Event lasts 5 hours
15 hour CPD course
This course is designed for Dental Hygienists to increase their scope of practice and perform temporary fillings
Course can also be undertaken by dental therapists and OHTs as a review
Course will be 15 hours in total with a combination of 11 hours on demand pre learning and a 4 hour hands on workshop
In this course, the participant will learn about the different types of temporary dental materials available and how to safely utilize them for a patient who needs to have a tooth temporized to get them out of pain, until the patient can be seen by a dentist/OHT for definitive treatment.
It is recognized that unique clinical circumstances can result in challenges in restorative care for infants, children, adolescents, and persons with special health care needs.
When circumstances do not permit traditional cavity preparation and/or placement of traditional dental restorations or when caries control is necessary prior to placement of definitive restorations, interim therapeutic restorations (ITR) 1 may be beneficial and are best utilized as part of comprehensive care in the dental home.
There will also be a “hands on” portion of the seminar utilizing the temporary dental materials placed and finished in Dentiforms.

At the end of this course, the participants will:
