About this event

Our Saturday open life drawing and painting sessions are hosted by Sandra Brand and feature life models in poses of varying lengths. The sketch club is relaxed and self-guided, so draw/paint however you like, in whatever medium you like. All experience levels and styles are welcome!


Each Saturday begins with a session of short poses ranging from 2 minutes to 15 minutes. After lunch the model will then hold a long pose for the remainder of the session (2 hours), giving you time enough to get the paints out if you'd like to! (Also, we usually book models for two weeks at a time, with the same long pose in both sessions - in case you'd like to come back the next week to finish a drawing/painting).


You can book tickets to the whole session, or just the short poses or the long pose - whatever works for you!


Frequently asked questions

Do I need to bring my own materials?

The studio supplies easels, boards for attaching paper to, and clips. We can also lend palettes if you're getting the paints out. Beyond that, participants generally bring their own materials. We do have a very limited amount of art supplies for sale though.

Are beginners welcome?

Absolutely. The sketch club is open to any artist, with any level of experience, working in any style or medium.

Do I need to be 18 to attend the sketch club?

In general our sketch clubs and classes are for adults, though we will accept older high school students (16-17) provided they have permission from their parents to attend.
