Lions in the Library to celebrate Lunar New Year!
Happy Lunar New Year! 新年快乐 (xīn nián kuài lè) The Spring Festival is also known as Lunar New Year, Chinese Chunjie, Vietnamese Tet, Korean Solnal and Tibetan Losar.
This festival begins with the first new moon of the lunar calendar and ends on the first full moon of the lunar calendar, 15 days later. The Lunar New Year marks the transition from one animal to the next in this zodiac, or Sheng Xiao.
The City of Canning is proud to celebrate alongside our friends and neighbours throughout the year. More to Celebrate initiatives strive to meet our Strategic Community Plan and Learning City Strategy objectives to: offer varied and accessible community events services and facilities, ensure our diverse cultures and beliefs are respected and contribute to the connection, inclusion and sense of belonging within the community agora.
Look out for physical displays prominent in your Canning Libraries highlighting our Collections, Social Media posts and Canning Events, providing opportunities to share stories of and learn more about these celebrations and days of acknowledgement.
