A great addition for your book shelf, as a display piece or as a special gift.


This program includes three sessions, to guide you in making your own Book Diorama.


Session 1 (Information and Pre-Planning): Friday 14 February 6:00pm - 8:30pm

There will be a small range of books and fabrics supplied however please bring along any additional materials you'd like to use in your creation.

Look at the available books, chair fabrics, book covers and sizes, floor coverings and materials that are supplied. Brainstorm and plan for any other fabrics, books, decorations, doilies and accessories you may wish to bring to the next session.


Session 2 (Constructing Book, Floor and Chair Session): Friday 21 February 6:00pm - 8:30pm

This session will focus on the base construction. Book Staging: Sticking pages together to create your frame. Floor: Constructing, covering and placing the floor. Chair: Cutting out chosen fabric and constructing chair.


Session 3 (Bringing it all together): Saturday 22 February 9:30am - 2:30pm

This is the session where it all comes together. Chair: Finish off construction and place. Book pile: construct and place. Construct and place all other objects and decorations.


Limited places – bookings are essential.

• Let us know if you have any support needs, or if a support person will be coming with you.


Accessibility:

• The multi-level car park (corner of Best Street and Fenton Way) provides disabled access parking, lift access and flat walking surfaces between the car park and the paranaple centre. Council parking fees apply.

• Entrance to the paranaple centre is via automatic doors at both Market Square and Rooke Street entrances. The Market Square entrance offers universal access and is available at the touch of a button, providing ease for patrons with access difficulties.

• Inside the paranaple centre, Devonport Library is located on both ground and first floors. Escalators, lifts and stairs are available to take you between the two floors. A parent and child room is situated on the ground floor and accessible toilets are available on all floors.
