About this event

  • Event lasts 5 hours

Navigating the assessment and prescription of a manual wheelchair can pose challenges for clinicians. Factors like frame design, material selection, component choices, and seating support require careful consideration with a collaborative and systematic approach. This workshop is designed to empower clinicians, instilling confidence in their role in manual wheelchair prescriptions. With a mix of both sit down and hands on learning, it aims to equip attendees with the skills to measure up and identify key configurations that enhance user outcomes and navigate the scripting process with ease.

KEY LEARNING AREAS:

  • Identify steps required to prepare for a holistic approach to manual wheelchair prescription.
  • Understand the relationship between selections made during the scripting process and wheelchair performance.
  • Outline key concepts of propulsion and configuration that impact function and participation.
  • Develop clinician confidence and skills in manual wheelchair prescription to facilitate patient outcomes including hands-on practice on how to translate client-to-chair measurements.

Certificates and CPD points will be provided. Morning tea will be served.
