About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Announcing its arrival on the scene just last month, the new Sydney-based DeteQt will leverage over 20 years of expertise in diamond-based quantum sensing and CMOS chip design to deliver an innovative solution for measuring magnetic fields. DeteQT’s sensor technology combines advanced quantum technology with scalable semiconductor manufacturing, representing what they state is a ‘significant advancement in the field’.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear about DeteQt’s plans for tapping into the global quantum sensing market, projected by McKinsey to be worth up to $6 billion by 2040. The latest generation of quantum sensing technologies are expected to disrupt a variety of sectors reliant on sophisticated sensor tech - from mining to medical imaging and diagnostics.

In a discussion led by Sydney Quantum Academy CEO Peter Turner, DeteQt’s co-founder Jim Rabeau will also share his inspiring journey from academia to industry leader and entrepreneur.

More on our speaker

With more than two decades of experience in diamond quantum technology, Jim Rabeau has established himself as a pioneer in the field. He has also launched new initiatives and built programs across industry and research. He led the Quantum Technologies Future Science Platform at CSIRO, was Deputy Director at University of Sydney Nano Institute, and has spent several years working in industry, including as a program manager at Microsoft Quantum Computing, and more recently as President of Infleqtion Australia.

Following the discussion and Q&A session, join us for networking drinks to connect with fellow quantum enthusiasts and innovators.
