For the past two years, this quartet has been workshopping Mike's extensive catalogue of jazz compositions, ranging from his early eighties music to his more recent works. After recently spending two days in the recording studio to document their collaboration for a potential future release, the quartet is eager to share the results with a live audience. This special performance will take place before drummer George Greenhill departs Sydney to take up a scholarship at New York’s prestigious Manhattan School of Music.
This will be the premiere performance of the music from their recent recording session and is a strictly one-off event not to be missed. Mike recently delivered what Steve Moffat from the Daily Telegraph described as a "gem-like set" at the Con Jazz Festival, where he was in sparkling form.
