Mikelangelo & The Long Lost Friends with Anushka at The Lomond Hotel.

Mikelangelo returns to Melbourne with his new band, The Long Lost Friends, to play a double-bill show with his sister and long-time collaborator Anushka.

Mikelangelo and the Long Lost Friends are based in the NSW town of Braidwood, nestled in the beautiful Southern Tablelands between the Far South Coast and Canberra. A town teeming with artists, poets, musicians and other creatives, the group features Jake Annetts on bass, Steve Maher on keyboard, Bruce Rose on guitar and Ben Willson on drums. They have worked up a set of new material alongside a bunch of Mikelangelo classics, playing an eclectic mix of slow grooves and roots rock, sultry ballads and driving pop, all delivered with Mikelangelo's trademark charm and baritone croon. Lyrically the new songs travel the highways and byways of the human heart, along the wild roads that lead back home to love.

Anushka and Mikelangelo have been performing together since they were teenagers, and while life has taken them in different directions, they cherish the moments they can come together and sing. Anushka has been an ongoing special guest with Mikelangelo's long term group, The Black Sea Gentlemen, and performs around Melbourne in her duo with Dave Evans, Anushka in the Woods. It will be a rare treat to catch the siblings performing together. Their set will include a selection of Anushka's eye popping original songs, some co-written tunes, and a few reimagined cover versions.
