Monoprint

Monoprint is a printmaking medium that employs a hybrid of drawing and painting techniques to create unique state original prints from a matrix. In this course participants will learn how to create their own suite of monoprints using the printmaking technique of drypoint - exploring different mark making methods on plastic plates and other alternative plates and/or matrices.

Using water soluble oil-based inks, participants will learn how wipe and print plates to give each of their works a unique character. Participants will learn how to print on an etching press to create their own unique state original prints
