Testimonials
🌟 “Such a unique experience! I came in knowing nothing about Jubensha, but it was so easy to get into the story! The organizers explained everything, and soon I was fully immersed, playing a character and uncovering clues with everyone else. The storyline kept me guessing until the very end, and the attention to detail was amazing. Can’t wait to play another!” — Alex R.
🌟 “Perfect mix of suspense, fun, and challenge. Everyone stayed in character, which made the whole game feel immersive and realistic. If you love mysteries and roleplaying, this is a must-try!” — Rina M.
🌟 “I've done a lot of escape rooms, but Jubensha was something totally different. It’s like a murder mystery dinner but more intense and interactive and without the food.” — Ryan P.
🌟 “The characters, the setting, the mystery—everything was so well-crafted! I loved working with other players to piece together the clues (or mislead them 😉). I’m already telling my friends to come with me next time!” — Lena M.
🌟 “I wasn’t sure what to expect since I’d never heard of Jubensha before, but it turned out to be one of the most fun experiences I’ve ever had. It was like a mix between a mystery novel and an escape room where you’re actually a character in the story. The organisers put so much thought into every detail, and it showed. It was fun and challenging. Highly recommend!” — Elijah D.
Whether you’re a seasoned sleuth or a first-time investigator, this Jubensha event will be an unforgettable experience. Gather your friends, don your detective hats, and get ready to dive deep into a world of mystery!

Frequently asked questions
Yes, everything will be in English! This is an English jubensha game.
The game contains material that may be harmful or traumatising to some players. It contains depictions/mentions of murder, death or dying, blood, kidnapping and abduction, sex, graphic violence and sexual assault.
In hopes of bringing Jubensha or "Script Murder" Mystery Games to Melbourne, we're looking for people to help play-test the game and give us feedback on what you think! It'll be very chill and also be a way for you to have fun and get to know the other players!
You get given a "script" aka a description of your character's backstory and of what happened that led to you and the 4 other characters/players meeting. You then work together to solve the murder mystery and find out who the killer is through questions and discussion.
Because of how the game is run, there are 5 "scripts" for every character and there must be 5 people to play those characters. We will be the "host" aka the "game master" to help guide you through the game. We invite you to see if you have any friends who would like to join you in trying jubensha!
We will meet in front of Door 8 in the Convention Centre. Here is a link to the MCEC map: https://www.mcec.com.au/plan-your-visit/venue-map. Please contact us if you have any questions.
We do not suggest that as you would already know how the story goes. So far, there are two games available to play-test - this 6-player one and a 5-player one. Please look forward to more Jubensha/Script Murder Mystery Games being added!
No! Just come to have fun and experience playing a Jubensha/Script Murder game. You do not necessarily have to "role play" as you can say "my character did this... my character didn't do that..." if acting as your character is awkward.
Roughly 3 hours is allocated to play the game and then 30 minutes is for a post-game review for feedback.
Most of the games require sitting and talking. You can excuse yourself for a break and are encouraged to get up and stretch but breaks won’t be scheduled.
You may bring food and drinks. Please at least bring water as you will be talking lots. Pen and paper is suggested if you would like to take notes.
Please let us know ASAP so we can cancel your ticket. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds. You will only be refunded if the event has to be cancelled or rescheduled. The event will only be cancelled or rescheduled if there are a lack of players required to play the game properly.
Jubensha is easy to get into, with no experience needed (lying skills may be advantageous). We welcome anyone who has sufficient maturity and literacy skills to read a short murder mystery. However, please note the content warnings below.
