The Music on the Macquarie Youth Music Festival is an exciting and vibrant event dedicated to celebrating the musical talents of young people in our community. Our first events will be held on Wednesday the 2nd of October at Apex Oval Dubbo and Thursday the 3rd of October at Kennard Park Wellington. If these events are successful, we will be holding them annually along the picturesque banks of the Macquarie River, this festival brings together budding musicians, enthusiastic audiences, and a supportive community to enjoy a day filled with diverse musical performances.

Why We Are Holding the Event

This year, the festival is particularly special as it coincides with Mental Health Month. We recognize the powerful role that music plays in promoting mental well-being, providing an outlet for expression, and fostering a sense of community and belonging. By hosting the Music on the Macquarie Youth Music Festival during Mental Health Month, we aim to:

Raise Awareness: Highlight the importance of mental health and the resources available to support young people.

Encourage Expression: Provide a platform for young musicians to express themselves creatively and share their stories through music.

Build Community: Strengthen connections within our community, creating a supportive environment where everyone feels valued and heard.

Promote Well-being: Showcase the therapeutic benefits of music and its positive impact on mental health.

Join us for a day of inspiring performances, community spirit, and meaningful conversations about mental health. Together, we can make a difference and support the well-being of our youth through the universal language of music.
