Description

This is a WOMEN'S ONLY event as part of Murdoch University's SAGE Athena SWAN initiative, specifically tailored to an audience of female-identifying academics and HDR students.

Among many ideas around mentoring and leadership, Murdoch University acknowledges recent staff feedback calling for greater recognition and celebration of successful people and strategies that promote gender equity and diversity in the workplace.

To honour this, we are showcasing several of Murdoch’s leading female academics and researchers via a Living Library-style forum. This unique mentoring and networking opportunity is for female academics and HDR students to hear from several women who have successfully navigated their way through academia despite career disruptions, particularly due to parental leave.

Facilitated by Professor Lyn Karstadt (Deputy Vice Chancellor - International) , the Living Library-style format will enable intimate sharing of personal journeys and open up further discussions about work-life balance and career progression.

Facilitator:

Professor Lyn Karstadt (Deputy Vice Chancellor - International)

Guest speakers:

Dr Nicola Armstrong (School of Engineering and Information Technology)

Professor Rhonda Marriott (Ngangk Yira Aboriginal Health & Social Equity Research Centre)
