Frequently asked questions

Do I need to complete online learning before my in person class?

You will be emailed your own learner guide and assessment to complete in your own time and submit prior to the class. Once at the course, you will be trained in the practical tasks and assessed face to face.

What do I need to bring to my in person class?

All resources are provided. First aid and CPR courses included practical demonstrations and activities on the floor, so it is advisable to wear comfortable clothing. You may choose to bring a towel or cushion to support your knees.

Where is the entrance to the training room at 2 Lawrence St?

The building at 2 Lawrence St is called 'Tulip Terrace'. You can enter the building via the door in the car park on the corner of Lawrence and Hume Streets.

How long will it take to get my certificate?

You will receive your certificate after you have met the requirements for completing the course, such as enrolling with your valid USI number, submitting the assessment and being marked competent in the assessments. You will receive you certificate via email usually within 1-2 weeks.

Do I have to get on the floor to perform CPR?

Nationally recognised requires that first aid performing at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) (5 cycles of both compressions and ventilations) on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor.
