In this relaxed two-hour workshop led by Kathleen from Nothing Like Nature, you'll be invited to take wander in nature and capture some of the experience on the page with writing, drawing or both. At the end of this session, you will have created at least two nature journal pages, learnt a range of techniques to capture your time in nature on the page and different ways of setting up your journal page.
Kathleen has studied the benefits of time in nature, earning a PhD in Environmental Psychology and is a certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide.
All levels of experience are welcome, including complete beginners and those who do not consider themselves artistic or creative. Everyone is welcome, just as you are.
This workshop is free and all materials will be supplied (e.g., paper, coloured pencils, magnifying glasses, rulers, etc.) and light refreshments.
This event is open exclusively to 12-18 years olds.

📍Location: Queen's Park, Moonee Ponds (Mt Alexander Rd &, Kellaway Ave, Moonee Ponds VIC 3039). Meet next to the stage area. A map will be provided in advance.

About Dr Kathleen Bagot: Dr Kathleen Bagot is a nature journaling educator and an expert in the benefits of time in nature. During an incredible year-long trip around Australia, Kathleen started capturing elements of nature on the page mainly using watercolours and pencil, and dabbling in acrylic, pens and inks. With a PhD in Environmental Psychology and certification as a Nature and Forest Therapy Guide, she combines her deep understanding of nature's impact on well-being with her passion for providing opportunities for people of all ages to slow down and spend time with nature.
Please note: To create a safe space that belongs to young people, this Valley Youth activity is for 12-18 year olds only. Parents & carers are asked not to attend. Support workers are encouraged to attend if the young person has support needs, please let us know upon registration. All Valley Youth events are all facilitated by trained Youth Workers. Accesibility
We aim for our events to be as accessible as possible. Queens Park is wheelchair accessible however, there is grass and some uneven paths. There are accessible bathrooms on site.
